I saw this DIY gift idea for him or her, and I can say it is the easiest little gift and a super cute way to dress up a gift card. When you purchase the gift card at Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, etc. just ask for an extra cup or two. Then just add some crinkle paper, a bow, and the printable tag and you are good to go! I’m including the printable tag with and without the “Happy Teacher Appreciation!” wording at the bottom. My kids love my handwriting so what better way to send them loving messages than simple chalkboard statements. I repurposed some old wooden rulers adding chalkboard at the center of the frames and drilled some holes for hanging and I can keep everyone in this house posted on what’s for dinner to household chores. You can add ribbon to the cabinet frame to suit any season. I added a rustic branch, leaf and berry garland for my rustic Fall display but Christmas lights look great also. The repurposed wooden ruler chalkboards are perfect year-round. I just love DIY farmhouse decor, don’t you?

This excellent DIY I saw on Pinterest is the cutest, most simple, and inexpensive DIY teacher’s crafts out there. One of my favorite mason jar crafts, that’s for sure. Mason jars, glitter and glue is all you need to get going here. I made a bunch of them with my kids for teache’s gifts this Christmas. We painted our mason jar lids but left a few plain and they looked excellent as well. The kids were so proud to bring their special DIY creations to their teachers, they reacted overwhelmingly joyous when they laid eyes on these DIY creations.

My daughter needed a DIY teacher’s gift this semester so we decided on a DIY cloth kindle cover. A hand sewn laptop case is a great DIY gift idea for the student in your family. I used an 80s retro printed cotton and some leftover blue fabric I had from making a blazer last Fall. I followed this very simple tutorial and it only took about an hour to complete. Of all the DIY laptop cases I’ve seen, this one is my favorite.

It’s not a complicated gift but the meaning behind it and gesture sure made her teacher laugh her head off.
