As I’m going through my craft/sewing room looking for items that can spark my drive to do another project, I found a stash of scrap fabrics I’ve been planning to use for some time now. So I thought, it might be time for another scrappy quilt, and as usual I ran to the internet to browse some tutorials I could follow.

I stumbled upon this video tutorial by Teresa DownUnder on YouTube, it was perfect and just the right project idea I was looking for. It was made up of strips of random size which is amazing because you don’t need to measure and cut precisely every now and then.
Step 1
Cut a square and a couple of strips in any size and width, then place the square in the center of your work surface, and place a strip at the top with their right sides facing. Stitch the strip with ¼ inch seam allowance, then press them open, and trim off the excess fabric.
Step 2
Repeat the same steps on one side of the square, then keep adding more strips, and press as you go. Trim the block to 12×12 inches or to your desired size, then continue to make more blocks, and put the blocks together. Finish your quilt however you want.
