This one of the greatest quilts if you are new to quilting, but the results will fool anybody when you tell them how easy it is to make!
Keep in mind that if you are a beginner, you don’t want to rush through the steps. You need to take your time and learn the right way. The gal that is teaching in this tutorial is very thorough and if you follow what she tells you to do you will be on your way to making a great looking quilt with 8 point stars!
What she shows you will ease up some of the anxiety you have about Y seams, perfect points, and pushing your seam allowance.
Each block is 11″ For 8 point stars, cut the diamonds at an angle of 45 degrees; cutting at an angle of 60 degrees will create 6 point stars.
She chooses two strips, 20-22″, 2-3/4″ width and she chose two different colors to give a little bit of movement to the star.
Then she chooses the background squares that are 3-3/4″ squares and places them in the corner of the block, then you need the triangles and she cuts them from quarter square triangles. They are straight grain with the bias on the inside. The square is 5-3/4″ and you cut 2 quarter square triangles. Then your are ready to cut, according to her instructions.
