I’ve tried a couple of techniques to decorate eggs for Easter before from painting to dyeing, and they worked pretty well for me, but I still want to try something different. That’s when I found this video tutorial by One Little Project on YouTube, and it was so adorable that I knew I had to give it a try.

Surprisingly, it is very easy to make unlike what I initially thought and the materials are pretty easy to find from the nearest craft or Dollar store. I might even keep this method for the next Easters to come but I have to discover different designs that I could do for some variations. Learn how to do this by watching the video tutorial below.

Materials for Pipe Cleaner Easter Eggs:

  • Plastic Easter egg
  • Pastel pipe cleaners
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks
  • Scissors
  • Treats, to put inside the eggs (optional)

Step 1

Find the seam of the Easter egg, then dab some hot glue, and place the end of the first pipe cleaner just above the seam. Hold the pipe cleaner in place until the glue has dried, then start wrapping the pipe cleaner around the edge while adding more hot glue as you go, and cut off the excess pipe cleaner once the ends meet.

Step 2

Now, keep adding layers of pipe cleaners until you reach the very top, then for the last bit at the top, spiral the pipe cleaner until it’s completely covered, flip the egg, and do the same steps on the other side of the egg. Once you’re done wrapping the Easter egg, fill it with treats of your choice if desired. You can also make other designs with your Easter egg.
