How to Make Fabric Stamps Using Scraps

Step 1:

Start by cutting your scraps into small rectangles, making sure the print is in the middle. Do not cut it too close.

Step 2:

Peel the back of the fusible web to reveal the sticky side. Arrange the scraps together as you can, using up the entire sheet. Make sure there are no spaces in between as you don’t want the glue to get onto your iron.

Step 3:

Place a teflon sheet on top and press it down with your iron. Make sure it is pressed well. Do not use the paper layer to iron your stamps.

Step 4:

Get your backing fabric and turn it over the wrong side. Pull one of the sticky layer of the fusible web and place it sticky side down to your backing fabric. Press it on the right side of your backing fabric with your iron.

Step 5:

Cut out your fabric stamps. You just want to cut enough that you have trimmed the edge. Peel the back and set on the right side of your backing fabric. Set them at least 1/4″ apart.

Step 6:

Using your pinking shears, cut fairly close to the stamp, leaving a nice border.
