Ever since I learned how to quilt, I have been constantly looking for new projects to try after finishing one. It’s a hobby that I’ve come to love doing every weekend, and it’s a great activity to pass the time. Plus, quilts sometimes make the most beautiful gift ideas, too!

How to Make a Milky Way Quilt:

Step 1

Get 1 print square and 1 white square, then stack them together with the right sides facing and edges lined up, and cut them into strips. Arrange 3 strips, then cut them in half together, and then cut each with the ruler template as demonstrated in the video.

Step 2

Sew the wide edges of each pair, then trim the corner at an angle, and turn the piece right side out making sure that the seams are lined up at the center. Press it down, then repeat the same steps with the rest, and then stitch the piece together one at a time until you complete the circle. Give them a good press as you go.

Step 3

Trace a round piece of object on a fusible adhesive, and press it down on your background fabric. Cut out the fabric, then stitch it to the center of your patchwork to hide the hole, and give it a nice press. Continue making more of these, then sew them to your background fabric, and finish your quilt however you want.
