For my first denim project, I decided to make this beautiful denim rose. If you have seen my DIY flower tutorials, you probably already know this technique. This does not require sewing, so you don’t have to worry about dealing with a needle and thread. You only need a glass, pattern, denim, scissors, and hot glue to make this denim craft. DIY Denim Flower Tutorial
Learn how to turn your old jeans into denim flowers with this easy tutorial.
Cutting the denim
Start by cutting 16 oval pieces from your denim. You can trace the oval pattern onto the fabric, but I prefer to simply place the pattern on top and cut directly. These are all from the same pair of jeans.
Arranging the pieces
Take a piece and set it aside. Divide the remaining pieces into 3 stack, with 5 pieces in each. You will be using 5 pieces for each layer.
Making the first layer
Grab your glass and the first stack. Fold a piece over the rim. Apply hot glue to one end of this piece, then place another piece so its side overlaps the glued area. Continue this around the rim until you form a complete circle.
Adding the next layers
For the next layers, repeat the same process but place them in between the pieces of the previous layer.
Covering the bottom
Take the piece that you set aside earlier. Add glue to the bottom of the flower, then place the last piece.
Removing the denim rose
Flip the glass over, then carefully remove the rose.
