Materials:

  • old t-shirt
  • scissors
  • paint (optional)
  • tape measure
  • pen

Directions:

Step 1

To start, cut out the neck of your T-shirt, then the sleeves (don’t cut the hem and stitching). Now, take the T-shirt and cut the bottom seams off. After this, lay it flat and measure about 1/2″ width and 3″ height for the fringes using a tape measure and a pen.

Step 2

Now, knot the top fringe to the bottom fringe in each little pair of fringes. Continue this step all the way across. After this, tie one strand that is next to each other of two pairs of knotted fringes to fill in the gaps. Once done, take the sleeves and stretch those out to make the handle. Now, design your tote bag by painting some flowers, hearts, or anything you like. Your DIY tote bag is now finished.
