How To Build a DIY Modern Greenhouse Using 2x4s

I’ve always wanted a greenhouse but I just haven’t got the time to build one myself, and when the right opportunity and timing came, I wasted no time and went looking for inspirations and ideas online. Probably one of my favorites is this one by Momma From Scratch on YouTube, it’s so simple, elegant, and pretty, plus, it is made up of 2x4s!

Materials for DIY Modern Greenhouse:
- 63 lumbers @ 2x4x8
- 6 lumbers @ 2x4x10
- 4 treated lumbers @ 2x4x10
- 2 treated lumbers @ 2x4x12
- 2 ridge beams @ 2x6x10
- Extra 2x4x8s and 2x4x12s, for bracing or squaring
- 2x3s for the inner door
- Torch head screws, 3.5″, 2.5″, and 6″
- Spray paint
- Saw
- Metal roof panels
- Clear roof panels
- Impact driver
- Lid support
- Small hinges
- Door hinges
- Metal cutting sheers
How to Build a DIY Modern Greenhouse:

Level the ground where you’ll install your greenhouse, then on a solid flat work surface, piece together the frames for the base, walls, and roof as shown in the video. Next, bring all of the frames over to the leveled ground, and then install them securely. Stain or paint the wood with whatever color you prefer, then let them dry completely, and while waiting cut the roof panels to the right size. Once the paint has dried and the panels are ready, install them to the sides and the top, then build the door, and install it to the greenhouse.
