If you have any leftover Christmas-themed fabrics from the past years, now is the perfect time to use them. You can also use your old green, red, and white clothes. If you prefer different colors, that would be great too. Just make sure you have two colors – one light and one dark. This is a great way to reuse old clothes instead of throwing them away in the trash. You can also personalize each piece by adding embellishments or buttons they own to the center of the ornaments to make them more meaningful.

Get the light and dark fabric, place them on top of each other, and pin them in place. Trace the circle on the top fabric and cut it out to make two circles from both fabrics.
Place the two circles on top of each other. Sew them together all the way around. Start with a back stitch, then sew all the way around with a 1/4″ seam allowance, leaving a 1.5″ opening. Backstitch once you reach the end before the opening.
Turn it inside out from the opening. Press the edges.
Fold the opening in and top stitch all the way around.
Determine which fabric you want for the dominant outside color. Fold it in half with the dominant fabric inside. Press the corners, then thread a needle on the edge of the fold, turn around to the other fold, and thread the needle again. Sew them together. Do not cut the thread yet. Press the corners again and thread them together again. Run your needle through the middle to tie them.
Flatten it out to get four points. Put your finger on the corner and turn it inside out. Repeat with the other corners.
Thread the cord underneath one of the corners, bring it back through, then take the needle off. Tie a knot so you can hang it.
Sew the embellishment on the center.
