Materials:

  • Main fabric
  • Backing fabric
  • Stuffing
  • Scissors or rotary cutter and a cutting mat
  • Fabric pins
  • Needle and thread
  • Marking pen or pencil
  • Sewing machine

Directions:

Step 1

Measure your bed and decide on your quilt’s size, then lay the top fabric on a flat surface, and start tracing a card template with an 8½-inch size all over the fabric to make 64 pieces of squares. Cut out the squares nicely and straight, then repeat the same step using a 7½-inch square card template on your backing fabric, and pile them up nicely.

Step 2

Take one top fabric square and one backing fabric square, then line them up nicely, and pin them around the corners together as shown in the video. Make sure to create a pleat on one side and leave it open for later, then start sewing along the pinned edges, and backstitch at the start and end. Now start sewing about 8 cells together in a row, then stuff each cell, and sew them close. Repeat this step, then sew the row together, and you’re done!
