Easy Quilt As You Go Scrappy Wine Tote Tutorial

Almost everyone or at least most people drink wine or other non-liquor beverage that you can think of, and makes a great gift because not only are they very easy to find but they are also easy to wrap, perfect for a last-minute gift preparation.

Materials Needed for a Quilted Wine Tote:
- Batting Kit (Click here to download the kit)
- Fabric strips
- Lining fabric
- Binding fabric
- Marking pen or pencil
- Ruler
- Scissors or rotary cutter and a cutting mat
- Fabric pins
- Needle and thread
- Sewing machine
How to Sew a Quilted Wine Tote:
Step 1
Unpack the backing kit, then cut them out roughly with ½ inch seam allowance, and lay the backing or lining fabric underneath the wine batting piece with its right side facing down. Pin them together, then stitch along the line, and start sewing the fabric strips as demonstrated in the video.
Step 2
Cut off the excess, then add the binding fabric along the edges, fold the piece in half front side facing, and stitch the straight edges of the tote’s bottom part with ¼ inch seam allowance.

Step 3
Lay the round batting piece on top of a fabric, then sew around the line including the X at the center, and place another fabric on the other side. Stitch them together following the stitching line earlier, then trim the excess right along the edge of the stitching, and set it aside.
Step 4
Press the seams of the tote open, then match them at the center, and pin them together in place. Attach the round piece at the bottom as demonstrated in the video, stitch them together, and turn the tote right side out poking the corners nicely.
