Materials:

  • Fabrics for the diamond block

  • Border fabric
  • Scissors or rotary cutter and a cutting mat
  • Ruler
  • Iron, for pressing
  • Needle and thread
  • Sewing machine
  • Pattern (Click here to download the pattern)

Directions:

Step 1

Cut the fabric pieces according to the pattern requirement, then sew the units together into small blocks, lay them together following the pattern guide, and sew them piece by piece. Repeat the process to make four more blocks and have a total of five diamond blocks. For the 4-leaf clover block, cut a fabric square, then place small background squares on 3 corners, and sew them in place diagonally from corner to corner. Trim off the excess seam, then press them open, and lay them together to form a single block making sure that the corner without a background fabric sewn is all at the center.

Step 2

Sew the two upper squares together, then sew the bottom squares, and once done, sew the units together and press. Repeat the process three more times for a total of four blocks. Once done making all the blocks, lay one diamond block at the center, then the remaining 4 blocks on each corner of the center block, and place the 4-leaf clover blocks in each space. Sew them piece by piece, then once done, add the border, and quilt however you want.
