Materials:

Directions:

Step 1

Cut the coordinating fabrics into strips as required in the pattern, then grab 2 different strips, and sew them together into a unit. Open the fabric and finger press the seam flatly, then iron it nicely, and repeat with the rest. Cut the strip unit into 6 pieces, then grab four of them, and set aside the two. Now, cut the backing fabric, then draw two diagonal lines in the middle as shown in the video, and start piecing them together with the rectangle fabric and background fabric.

Step 2

Cut the pieces that you sew using the marked lines as a guide, then give them a good press, trim off the two sides of the half-square triangle, and cut them out again about 2½ on each side. Continue with the rest of the pieces, then sew together the small half-square triangles with the rectangles pieces, open the fabric, and finger crease. Sew this together with the larger pieced rectangle, then sew two of these together in a unit, and those units into one. Now, you have a large single block with a star-like pattern at the center, give it a nice press, and continue creating more blocks.
