If you’re a beginner in quilting and looking for a fun quilt to do, try this dream weaver quilt from Missouri Star on Youtube! This pattern is one of my favorites, and I always make this whenever I have cool patterned jelly rolls. Whether you’re a beginner or not, I’m sure you’ll be able to enjoy the process of doing this quilt. Watch the video tutorial below to learn the step by step instructions.

Materials:

  • 1 roll of 2 1/2″ print strips
  • 1 1/4 yards of background fabric
  • 1 1/2 yards sashing (includes inner border)
  • 1/4 yard cornerstones
  • 1 1/4″ outer border
  • 3/4 yard binding
  • 5 yards backing

Directions:

Step 1

Take 2 1/2″ strips and cut six 2 1/2″ squares and six 4 1/2″ rectangles. Now, put them together by laying out a rectangle vertically, then one printed square at the side. Next, lay one rectangle horizontally on the side of the first rectangle (with the same print as the first printed square), then lay a new printed square on top of the rectangle. After this, place another rectangle in a vertical position beneath the second rectangle (with the same pattern as the second square on top). Next, place the fourth rectangle in a horizontal position beneath the first rectangle, then the corresponding square across it. Place solid white squares on each corner.

Step 2

Repeat these steps to make more blocks for your desired quilt size. After this, sew these quadrants by sections, then sew these sections, and press open. Now, lay the blocks out with sashing in between every row. Lay seven across the top and eight down.

Since I lover experiments, I’ve alwaysnloved to create, paint, as well as cook and style food. I feel in love with DIY as soon as I discovered it and could not have been more excited when I learned I could share projects with people around the world. Taking photos is a passion of mine, as is design and painting with oils. I love holidays and celebrations, crafting cute little gifts and serving up at least one new recipe I am excited about.
