Materials:

  • mustard/ketchup bottle
  • corn holders
  • 4 pcs. tumbling tower blocks
  • tumbling chalk paint, in elephant
  • apple barrel paint, in jet black
  • apple barrel paint, in pewter grey
  • apple barrel paint, in granite grey
  • apple barrel paint, in burnt umber
  • hot glue gun
  • cutter
  • marker

Directions:

Step 1

Remove the lid of the ketchup bottle, cut the protruding part, then push that part back to the opening. Secure it with hot glue. Next, mark both sides where you will attach the corn holders, then paint the bottle with apple barrel paint in burnt umber shade, then a layer of tumbling chalk paint in elephant shade. Let it dry completely. Next, draw a long rectangle, then cut it. (This is where you will place the succulents.) Now, color the bottle again, using apple barrel paint in jet black, pewter grey, and granite grey shades. Use a small foam to tap the paint onto the bottle, creating a galvanized look.

Step 2

Next, paint the tumbling blocks in burnt umber, then attach two in an “A” shape using hot glue. After this, attach them to the bottom of the bottle on opposing sides. This will be the stand of the planter. Once everything is dried, paint the corn holders in burnt umber as well, then attach them on both sides of the bottle using hot glue. Now, place the succulents and some more greeneries inside. Your DIY rolling pin succulent planter is now finished!
