Terracotta clay pots and decorative art are some of the least expensive items in my local garden center, and they are also one of the most useful items. I just saw this wonderful video tutorial by Do It Yourselfer Home And Garden Guy, on Youtube, that showed how to make an attractive recirculating birdbath out of a terracotta pot. After years in an apartment, we just moved into a new house that has a big yard, so this idea was really going to come in handy to turn our new backyard into an outdoor oasis. The look of this birdbath is distinctly Italian and will fit in perfectly with my eclectic boho decor. All the materials are super simple, and I was able to find them at the local Home Depot garden center. You are going to be amazed at the wonderful array of wildlife a water feature will make in your home garden.

Materials For This Recirculating Birdbath:

  • A terracotta pot
  • A terracotta decorative circle (a mandala would work, or a flower)
  • A small pump
  • tubing
  • A drill (with drill bits as large as the tubing)
  • A cinder block

Directions:

In this wonderful video tutorial by Do It Yourselfer Home And Garden Guy, on Youtube, you will learn how to make this bubbling water feature in a few easy steps. Remember to soak all the terracotta that you will be drilling to prevent cracking, then keep it wet with a spray bottle.

Since I lover experiments, I’ve alwaysnloved to create, paint, as well as cook and style food. I feel in love with DIY as soon as I discovered it and could not have been more excited when I learned I could share projects with people around the world. Taking photos is a passion of mine, as is design and painting with oils. I love holidays and celebrations, crafting cute little gifts and serving up at least one new recipe I am excited about.
