Macrame projects are beautiful in general because I love boho style things. This macrame purse is so chic and I love how it has removable straps. It does require a bit more time to make this purse because of all of the details. Soulful Notions’ tutorial on YouTube makes it look so easy to do, but I’m sure you need to know the basics of how to make knots for macrame. Honestly, it’s super satisfying to watch the macrame purse come together. I think it’s a cute summer purse. My style is so simple, and I think this would add a perfect touch or statement to my outfits.

Materials:

  • 3mm single-ply cotton
  • 2 key chains 1 inch with clasp
  • knitting needle
  • comb

Directions:

First, make basic knots on the top and work your way down and across. Once you have a decent amount of square knots and length, fold it in half to see if the size is perfect for your purse. Then, work your way down into a “V” for the flap that comes over the purse.

Next, when you’re finished, take it off the clothing rack or wherever you were hanging the macrame purse. Cut off the fringe to the length you want it to be, and comb out the strands. Then, fold the purse up where the design of the “V” starts and stitch the sides together.

I love how this macrame purse can be used as a 2-in-1 purse because of the removable straps. Overall, fringe is so trendy and it’s fashionable when you’re wearing a simple outfit. You can dress it up or down with this purse too. Plus, you can use whatever color to make this macrame purse, but I think this pink blush is flirty and universal.
