Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Next, cut the ends of the asparagus, then cut them in half. Spray the casserole dish with some cooking spray and place the asparagus into the bottom nicely. After this, in a bowl, add 10 oz of cream of mushroom. Add 1/2 tsp of ground black pepper, 1/2 tsp of garlic powder, and 1/2 cup of grated parmesan cheese. Mix it just until the cheese combines nicely.

Spread the soup mixture over the asparagus, leaving an inch from the edge. (You can add more asparagus to the top for added presentation.) Place it in the preheated oven of 375 degrees F and bake for about eight to ten minutes. While waiting for the asparagus, in a bowl, add 1/2 cup of parmesan cheese, 1/2 cup of panko bread crumbs, and 1 tbsp of melted unsalted butter. Mix it to combine. After ten minutes, pull the casserole out of the oven and spread the topping you made nicely and evenly over the top. Place it back in the oven for another 10 minutes.
