Every year we get a huge crop of peaches in the Fredricksburg, right in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. These Hill Country peaches are so delicious and I have always struggled with not being able to eat all my peaches before they go bad. I have always wanted to learn to can peaches, so when I found this fabulous canned peaches video recipe tutorial by Food Storage And Survival, on YouTube, I wanted to try it with my next batch of fresh Hill Country peaches. The method of making these canned peaches was really easy to follow and I only needed a few canning supplies that I found at Walmart. I got a canning bath that came with a basket insert, a wide-mouth funnel, and some jar tongs. The mason jars can be found at Dollar Tree, Michael’s craft store, Hobby Lobby, or Walmart also.
In this fabulous canned peaches video recipe tutorial by Food Storage And Survival, on YouTube, you will learn how to can peaches in a few easy steps. You will begin by blanching your peaches and cutting them in half, removing the pit. Then, you will add 1/4 to 1/2 cup of sugar to each jar, then melt that sugar with about 1/4 cup of hot water, and add the peaches.
Then you will add the jars to the canning bath and slow boil for about 40 minutes. Any jars that do not seal can be cooled then refrigerated, and those can be eaten first.
