The foxy 70s are back, everywhere I look I’m seeing 70s swag in full swing, from the styles of the new Country Band Midland to the resurgence of Ray Ban’s classic Aviator glasses.
Last week I made a Beer Box Hat for my Brother In Law, who is king of the pre-game tailgate scene, and everyone loved it and are now ringing my phone off the wall with his friends wanting me to make them one. I wanted to kick it up a notch with something super retro and I remembered the first beer hat that I had ever seen in the 70s. When I found this brilliant Crocheted Beer Hat tutorial on Youtube, I knew I had struck 1970s gold! If my brother In Law wowed his friends with the Beer Carton Hat, he was going to absolutely kill it in this Crocheted Beer Can Hat, because it is the real McCoy and I know the tailgate crowd was going to go bananas over this retro gem and though I really needed to get cracking on all the Beer Box Hats I had on order, I had to put them on the back burner for a day to churn this one out.
I only needed a six-pack for this project and I shared a couple with my neighbor to get the first and most fun part of the project going, that is the empty beer can part. You need them for the project after all, and believe me, after you complete that part of the project, the rest is going to be a breeze. I know you beer lovers are going to dig this, I call this a relaxed state of mind project, my favorite kind!
