This DIY Kinetic Sand Is Your Kids’ New Favorite Toy

No matter what age you are, you’ve gotta love kinetic sand. It’s squishy, sticks together into cool shapes, is usually brightly colored, and can turn back into a sandy consistency instantly. It’s the perfect toy for little kids, but really, it’s a great toy for everyone.

Brooke with WhatsUpMoms has never done me wrong with her DIYs. This time, she creates an easy kinetic sand recipe that everyone can enjoy.

If you do have kids and need a no-hassle toy for the playroom, kinetic sand is a quick and easy DIY when you’re in a pinch. You only need a few things to make this awesome kinetic sand.

You’ll Need:

• 1 cup cornstarch
• 1/8 cup liquid detergent
• 1 cup shaving cream
• Optional food coloring if you want a particular color

Putting it together is even easier than gathering the ingredients. All you have to do is mix everything together and that’s it! Store in an airtight container and have it ready to go whenever a little one (or you, no judgement,) wants to play!

Kinetic sand can also make an awesome gift. Brooke suggests packing the sand with little buried treasures, and it’s a great favor for kids at birthday parties!
