After my last trip out of town, I realized that I really had to do something about my luggage tag situation. I actually had my personal information written on an Avery label and stuck to my suitcases! Can we say procrastinator?

Then I saw this tutorial and thought that it looked super easy and I had so many scraps that I didn’t even have to go to the fabric store…these take very little material to make. I picked some of my very favorite pieces of fabric that I had left over and made them. I’m very proud of myself!

I felt kind of goofy after making these, since they are so simple to make! After all those years I finally made some luggage tags! It never occurred to me to buy some because I didn’t think about the fact that I needed some, when I was out and about!

We’re always trying to distinguish our black suitcase from all the other black suitcases on the luggage ramp!  I’ve had some cute plastic ones which the baggage handlers have ripped off accidentally.  This tag was developed to open easily to insert your information but once it’s on your suitcase it is secure.

After I made these, I realized that they could be used as more than just a tag to hook to your suitcase. You can use them as a bookmark, labels for toy bins or organizational tags for your pantry, business card holders…the possibilities are endless!
