One great idea that I found online is this one by Tero Designs on YouTube, this video tutorial will show you how to make a faux fireplace at home using your TV and some foam boards. Surely your living room will look amazing and I bet your family will think so, too! Learn how now.
Step 1
Measure the height and length of your TV, then use those measurements to cut your foam board and decide how wide or thick you want the border to be. Cut out the foam boards to size, then start building the sections together, adding some small foam board strips inside each section for stability.
Step 2
Glue all 4 sections together, then cover it entirely with contact paper, and put it in place with the TV nicely centered. Cut a piece of insulating board to go on top of the fireplace making sure it overlaps a bit, then cover it with a brown wood sticker paper, and place it on top of the fireplace to complete the look. Decorate it with some ornaments or any objects that you like.
