Ocean Waves Curves Quilt Tutorial

If you love fun and unique quilt patterns, you have to try this ocean waves curves quilt from Jennifer Strauser on YouTube. This quilt pattern is one of my favorites as it’s so unique, and I can go as creative as I want. You can use your scrap fabric stash on this project or your favorite charm pack. I like my project scrappy, so I always do this quilt pattern whenever I have a lot of scraps from my previous projects.

Materials:
- 4 1/2″ white squares
- 4 1/2″ colored/printed squares
Directions:
Step 1
Line one 4 1/2″ white square and one 4 1/2″ colored square. Take your rotary cutter and go across diagonally in a slight curve direction. Stack them right sides up, switch them, then flip and sew them together (make sure to line up the edges as the fabrics go under the presser foot of your sewing machine.) Once done, press them open, then take your sewn unit to your cutting table. Line your square ruler over the top and trim your block.

Step 2
You will need 12 of these pieces and three white squares to complete one block. Once you have all the pieces, start laying them up from the block (refer to the image below for the placements.) Sew them by rows, then sew those rows together to complete your block.
