If you want to make a pretty planter but don’t want to spend too much money on expensive store-bought ones, then just try making them on your own instead, and recycle materials that you already have on hand, such as some old plastic jars! So, the next time you consider throwing out those old jars, think twice and collect them instead so that you can use them for future DIY projects such as this one by D Crafter on YouTube.
Step 1
Wrap clear tape or painter’s tape around the jar making sure to space them apart evenly, then coat the spaces without tape with yellow paint until nicely covered, and let dry. While waiting for the paint on the jar to dry, grab the lid, then draw the eyes and mouth, and paint it black and white as shown in the video. Check the jar if the paint has dried, then gently remove the tape, and paint the spaces left by the tape with black, you can apply tape above the yellow if you want cleaner and more straight edges.

Step 2
Once the paint has dried completely, heat up a knife, then use it to cut a rectangle opening on one side of the jar, turn the jar over, and poke some holes for the excess water to drain through. Now, fill the planter with soil, then add the flowers or plants of your choice, and poke some more holes along the top of the planter. Insert rope, wire, cord, or anything you can find through the hole at the top of the planter, then tie it tightly, and hang your planter.
