Materials:
- 100% cotton fabric
- pinking shears (or pinking blade for your rotary cutter)
- beeswax (or beeswax pellets)
- parchment paper
- iron
- old towel
Directions:
Step 1
First, cut your fabric in any size you decide you need. (The fabric was cut at 12″ square in this case.) If you will use it for covering your bowls, you can lay your fabric down, turn your bowl upside down on the fabric, and cut around, leaving at least 1 & 1/2″ to 2″ on every side of the bowl. Now that you have your fabric cut to size, it’s time to put beeswax on it. Set down an old towel to protect your ironing board, put down one sheet of parchment paper, then put beeswax on top of the fabric.

Step 2
After covering the fabric with beeswax, take your second sheet of parchment paper and lay it on top. Take your iron now and just press it down. As you press, the beeswax will start to melt and it will spread across the fabric. Once it has all melted, carefully lift the top piece parchment paper and just double-check if it’s all covered with beeswax. If you have some dry spots, put a little more, put your parchment paper back, and press it down. Now, gently remove your fabric from the bottom piece parchment paper and let it cool off.
