This simple yet beautiful quilt by Missouri Star Quilt Company on YouTube will inspire you to do a whole quilting project this week! This technique is unbelievably simple to do even beginners will find it quite easy. You should try this project out now, you’ll surely love it.
Step 1
Take 2 printed and solid pieces of fabric, then lay them together alternately forming a 4-patch square. Next, grab the 2 pieces of fabric at the top (1 solid and 1 printed), then lay them together with their right sides facing, and sew them together on one side (make sure that the side you’re going to sew is the one that would be on the center later) with a ¼ inch seam allowance. Repeat this process with the other 2 pieces of fabric, then press the while folded, open the fabric, and press again.

Step 2
Now, sew the pair together to create the 4-patch block, then press them nicely both folded and unfolded. Lay the ruler on top of the fabric making sure that the inch line is on the center seam, then cut, turn the rotary mat, lay the ruler an inch from the center seam, and cut. Do this all the way around the square, then after cutting all 4 sides, take the 2 corner pieces, and swap. Rotate the tiny 4-patch piece at the center once, then sew them back together starting on the top row, then the middle, and the bottom. Lastly, sew the strips together, then press nicely, and you’re done!
