This is certainly a different approach to quilting and these wonky quilts have a modern twist to them. They’re so much fun and you can use up a lot of those scraps you have laying around for this one. There are so many variations of these quilts and you can make up your own patterns as you go along!

Of all the things I’ve tried this year, this wonky quilt is my favorite!  I am drawn to modern shapes and graphic animals. As always, when preparing myself to try a craft technique I found loads of ideas and tutorials that were inspiring!

I love the wonky blocks and composition. The Marcia Derse fabrics used in this quilt are wonderful!

I made this quilt for a good family friend whose husband passed away recently. She and my Mom were very close, so it was important to me to do something for her and what’s better than a wonky quilt to brighten up her days?

This is the first time I’ve done this block, and it was really quick! I started the top on Monday, and after three sessions had the whole thing finished, quilted and bound! I did some straight line quilting, and I also did the binding by machine for the first time. I also pieced the back for the first time! I really liked that process.
