Are you looking for your next quilt project? I recommend this sunset light quilt block from  Cut and Create on YouTube. You might think this quilt block is hard at first sight, but it’s actually one of the easiest patterns you will ever do. It’s also super quick to put together; you won’t need a full hour to make this block.

I also like how I can play with printed fabrics with this quilt project. This is pretty in solid colors but more interesting if you mix in printed and bold prints. Try this pattern today and see for yourself! Watch the video tutorial below to learn the step by step instructions.

Materials:

fabric A (white):

  • 2 – 4 1/2″ squares
  • 2 – 2 1/2 x 4 1/2″ rectangles

fabric B (printed):

  • 4 – 4 1/2″ squares

fabric C (lighter):

  • 2 – 2 1/2″ squares

fabric D (darker):

  • 2 – 2 1/2″ squares

Directions:

Step 1

To start, cut all the fabric requirements accordingly, then label them. Now, lay the pieces first to preview the block before stitching them together. First, lay the fabric A squares on each side, then the rectangles on top and bottom. Next, lay the fabric B squares on all four corners, and then both fabrics C and D make up the middle. Just lay them alternating the colors (these will create two units of four-patch).

Step 2

After this, start stitching the pieces together. Start by sewing the two four-patch units in the middle, then attach the fabric A rectangles on the top and bottom units. After this, sew the squares on the side together. Press these units nicely, then start sewing them together to finish the block.
