  • 72 – 4″ squares
  • 7/8 yard border fabric
  • 1/2 yard binding fabric
  • 4 yards of backing fabric

Directions:

Step 1

To start, cut all the fabric requirements and set them aside accordingly. Next, take a 4″ block, fold it in half diagonally corner to corner, then give it a press. Repeat this to all of you 4″ blocks. After this, take the 8 1/2″ block, line up the corner of one 4″ block, and then place another one right at the opposite corner. Pin them in place, then sew right on the folded line. Once done, trim a 1/4″ away from the sewn line on both sides, then press open. Repeat these to make more blocks.

Step 2

To make the X block, take four blocks, line up the centers, then sew them together. Make nine of these units. Once you have all the blocks you need, lay them out, make rows, and then sew those rows together to make the quilt top. Lastly, add the borders to complete the quilt.
