Easy Collard Greens Ingredients

  • 2 lbs of collard greens (washed and cut)
  • 2 large ham hocks (can be smoked turkey legs or smoked pork necks)
  • 1 large yellow onion
  • 2 large jalapeno peppers
  • 1 tablespoon of minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar
  • 8 cups of water

How to Make Collard Greens

Step 1:

In your crockpot, place your ham hocks, onions, garlic, and peppers. Pour 8 cups of water. Place the lid and set it on high for 6 hours.

Step 2:

After 4 hours, give it a stir and the collard greens. Submerge them into the liquid. Season with salt and pepper, then add the apple cider vinegar. Mix until well combined. Place back the lid and continue to cook for the remaining 2 hours.
