I remember my Grandmother’s beautiful sachet bags. When I was a little girl I was always so fascinated by her beautiful lace sachet bags…they were so “girly” and they were my favorite things of hers, along with all of her hat boxes and fancy hats! My Grandmother kept her sachet bags in her dresser drawers to make her clothes smell good.

When I ran across this tutorial it took me back to that time and I just had to make some of these. They are beautiful gifts for friends, but I made some for myself first!

I grow a lot of lavender, so I hang them upside down to dry and I save them for my little sachet bags, along with some other good smelling essential oils. They are so feminine and beautiful!

These little bags don’t take long to make and decorate. I had a bunch of my Grandmother’s old costume jewelry so I used those on the bags I made for myself and I went to a couple of thrift stores to buy some more. Being sentimental, I didn’t want to part with my Grandmother’s jewelry.

The craft stores have beautiful buttons that you can use for these lovely little bags as well. You can buy those when you pick up some lace. Many times you can find beautiful old lace at flea markets and thrift stores too!

Watch how Angela Holt makes these in her step by step tutorial so you can make some of these too!

Since I lover experiments, Iโ€™ve alwaysnloved to create, paint, as well as cook and style food. I feel in love with DIY as soon as I discovered it and could not have been more excited when I learned I could share projects with people around the world. Taking photos is a passion of mine, as is design and painting with oils. I love holidays and celebrations, crafting cute little gifts and serving up at least one new recipe I am excited about.
