Rustic is a practical style that uses natural materials functionally and also frugally. It is an affordable style that will add great character and warmth to your home. When I think about about a rustic home I think about warm wood tones and neutrals, with texture, that instantly make me feel cozy and comfortable.

Over the weekend I made a wooden arrow to hang above the double doors that lead into the office. I used scrap materials so this project cost me a total of free.

These are easy to make and you can vary the sizes and shapes.  So far, I’ve left mine the natural wood but who knows, I might stain it later or make a chalk finish paint for it. I just love the way it turned out. Who knew that making a simple arrow would be so charming?

I have a love/hate relationship with wall art.  I love how it can pull an entire room together and make it feel cozy and complete.  But I hate the price tag!  I’ve been on a mission to create my own DIY wall art, and it doesn’t get much easier than these rustic painted arrows.

These rustic arrows are a really popular addition to home decor and are used a lot in wall groupings or alone. You can actually make these for basically free with pallet wood and a little bit of paint. Put these with any decor and they fit right in, adding that perfect amount of rustic charm!
