This is such a seasonal cheery project for quilters, Autumn is upon us and it’s time to bring our holiday decorating ideas out. I love to plan and I do plenty of that, but it’s time to not only be inspired but to actually work on a few of those DIY project ideas I’ve been saving. You lay out your quilting pieces and will be working with blocks and half square triangles.

I followed these easy instructions and decided to use a gold thread for the actual quilting because if I had used a green, it wouldn’t have shown up as well as the gold did.

I made this Quilted Autumn Leaf Table Runner for my Mom because she still loves to decorate her Fall table from the end of September until the day after Thanksgiving. This year, she made a beautiful porch decoration with 5 bails of decorative hay from JoAnn’s Fabrics and no less than 20 pumpkins. No surprise that she loves to decorate for Thanksgiving and Christmas, going all out for both. When my mother decorates, every surface is covered in holiday fare. I knew when I saw this tutorial for a quilted Thanksgiving table runner, she would love having it for her table. It was not too time-consuming, and pretty easy to piece together. The finished product looked as good as the photos in the video, too. Grab some fall fabrics and watch the tutorial video, then you should be set to start making one of these table runners for yourself.
