Most of us love old things that have been repurposed, especially things that bring back memories of our youth. This lady with eHowArtsAndCrafts bought some fabulous old school lockers at an antique store and did something with them that is such an awesome idea!  I’ll be on the lookout for some old school lockers after seeing what she did!

All I could think of when I saw this wonderful sideboard was “WOW”! She turned them into the coolest side table, simply by adding a  wood top and square wooden legs to them. Then she rubbed the front of them with an automotive grade polish, to prevent any them from any further rusting, therefore, keeping the patina of the original paint. She used three 2 x 6 boards and screwed them from the underside of the lockers to make a nice stable table top. Then she finished the wood with a coat of polyurethane.

She uses them for her kids craft projects, which I found to be ironic, since these lockers were built for kids in the first place! This makes for some great storage space and adds such a unique vintage look to your home.

These lockers will have a life that will out live all of us! This is the kind of treasure that will be passed down through generations to come and that warms my heart to think about it. That’s what I love so much about repurposing special things like this. The history is such a neat story to tell for years to come.

Watch her tutorial and she will tell you exactly what she did. I may see you on my hunt for some old school lockers!
