Easy Mounds Bar Cake Ingredients
For the cake:
- 1 box (15.25 oz) of chocolate mix
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup of milk
- 1/2 cup of salted butter
For the topping:
- 3/4 cup of milk
- 3/4 cup of sugar
- 24 large marshmallows
- 14-ounce bag of sweetened flake coconut
- 1 stick of salted butter
- 12-ounce bag semi-sweet chocolate chips

How to Make Chocolate Mounds Cake
Step 1:
Start by preheating your oven.
Step 2:
Make the cake. Mix the chocolate mix, melted butter, eggs, and milk in a large bowl. Pour into a greased and floured 9″ x 13″ cake pan, then bake according to package instructions. Once done baking, let it cool completely.
Step 3:
Place a large saucepan over medium-low heat, and add the milk, sugar, marshmallows, and coconut. Stir constantly until melted. Immediately pour over the cooled cake and spread evenly. Allow it to cool for about 10 minutes.
Step 4:
In a microwave safe bowl, add the chocolate chips and one stick butter. Heat in 30 seconds increments, stirring in between, until melted. It will take about 1 minute and 15 seconds. Immediately pour over the coconut-marshmallow layer. Allow it to cool until the chocolate set before serving.
