I’ve been looking for a lazy susan that fit my house’s decoration scheme, but just couldn’t seem to find one. So naturally, I was thrilled to find this amazing tutorial by Home with Kelly P that teaches you how to make a custom lazy susan. I decided to paint mine and add some ribbon around the edges.

Materials Needed For This DIY:

  • Dollar Store Tray
  • Lazy Susan Turn Table
  • Screws
  • Drill
  • Screwdriver

Directions:

Step One

Decorate your lazy susan tray. You can do this by painting, gluing on accessories, using washi tape, or really any other method you’d like. In the video down below, Kelly decorates one with chalkboard paint and one with marble contact paper. Each way, you will get a completely different look. You could even just leave it as a wooden tray and sand it down.

Step Two

Flip over the tray you just decorated. Place the lazy susan turntable on the tray and using a pencil draw a mark in each hole you will need a screw in.

Step Three

Drill a hole into each mark you made with your pencil. Finally, sit at the turntable on top of the holes and put the screw into the holes you just made using your screwdriver.

Step Four

Flip the tray back over and make sure the screws are in far enough that the turntable will spin.

That’s it! The easiest kitchen table centerpiece that can be completely customized to your decorating style.
