If you are looking for a fun Halloween costume, look no further. The DIY Hula Hoop Pumpkin Costume is the most fun Halloween idea I’ve seen in years. It is a no-sew project that is perfect for a last-minute costume idea you can pull off in a pinch. The fabric portion of this pumpkin costume is pinned over the Hula Hoop with safety pins, you could easily use fabric glue and the silky fabric in the tutorial could easily be substituted for a wide orange felt from JoAnn Fabric Store. There is so much you can do with this costume, the legs can be green or brown tights and the headpiece can be a handmade stem out of felt or any cheerful Halloween headdress will work perfectly as our cheerful Youtuber demonstrates. This is a 30-minute or less costume you can make on the spur of the moment before any Halloween shindig you might be invited to last minute.
I went to a Halloween Party many years ago dressed as Harpo Marx, I had painstakingly put together that costume and it was excellent, perfectly executed. I thought I was going to have the best costume there but, a girl showed up dressed as a big round tomato and stole the show. The Tomato Costume was so exquisite it was made of red satin and she had cute green tights that made her legs look like beautiful vines. The straps holding the tomato up were covered in cut felt leaves with green sequin detail, just saying the sky is the limit with imagination on these costumes, any of these ideas can easily translate to the DIY Hula Hoop Pumpkin idea. Lesson learned: Sometimes simple ideas are the most dynamic, the tomato commanded the entire room.
