When I found this awesome video tutorial by Pan The Organizer, on YouTube, I was so excited to get these useful car washing tips from a twenty-year car detailing veteran. Not only is a clean car nice to have, but when you wash your car properly you are protecting your investment. It doesn’t take long for a car to go downhill, so it is of paramount importance to not let your car cleaning and maintenance get out of hand before it is too late.

Materials You Will Need To Wash The Car Properly:

• Microfiber cloths (the waffle weave variety will dry your paint without scratching it)
• 2 Microfiber wash mitts (you will need one to ash the paint and one to wash the wheels)
• A proper car soap (please do not use dish soap, you will need a soap that is PH neutral, so you won’t damage the car’s finish)
• Bucket (if you can find one with a grit guard, that is best)
• Wash your car toward the end of the day so the soap won’t dry too quickly

Directions:

You will begin by filling the bucket with soap and water, then you need to start at the mid-portion of the roof, then working your way downward. Most of the grit and grime collects near the bottom of the vehicle, so you will be spreading more dirt onto the overall car’s surface if you start at the bottom, especially the wheels.

Then, you will clean your tires separately with another microfiber cloth, and in the video tutorial, you will get extra tips on how to clean this stubborn area.
