If your glass stovetop is in a very bad condition, a cooktop cleaner might no longer work. Those stains and scratches will not get easily removed with just your normal cleaning products. For this method, you will need a buffer and sandpaper. It’s easy and effective. After a few passes, your stovetop will be so much better than it used to be.

What You Need to Remove Scratches on a Glass Cooktop

  • drill
  • buffing pad kit
  • metal polish
  • 20000 grit sandpaper
  • cloth

How to Remove White Spots on a Glass Stovetop

Step 1:

Assemble the buffing pad and attach it to your drill.

Step 2:

Add some metal polish and wipe with a cloth until it turns dark. Let it sit for a minute.

Step 3:

After 1 minute, buff your glass stove top.

Step 4:

Repeat steps 2 and 3 until most of the white spots are removed. Wipe the metal polish off before you repeat the process.

Step 5:

Using the finest sandpaper that you can get, apply the pressure to the sheet and run it across the surface to remove the scratches. Once done, wipe it clean again.
