Here’s a quick and easy hack to cut your pineapples:  How to Cut a Pineapple in Under 5 Minutes

How to Pick the Best Pineapple

1 – Color

You want to pick a pineapple with a little bit of green and a lot of yellow.

It will not be completely yellow since the North American stores don’t have those.

For Del Monte pineapples, the middle of each diamond has a beautiful shade of yellow and the outside is a beautiful shade of green. The md2 on the other hand, should have nice blotches of yellow and have some green.

If it’s totally green, it is not ripe, but if it’s yellow all over, it is over-ripe.

If you pick up a pineapple and it’s moldy on the bottom, do not get it.

2 – Leaves

The leaves will tell you if the pineapples are fresh or not. A fresh pineapple will have nice healthy looking green leaves.

If a pineapple is ripe, if you grab the top leaf and pull it, it should come out really easily.
