Dot painting has been growing onto me more lately as I continue to come across them. It is a lovely technique that really inspires me to try it out. My favorite so far would have to be how to make a dot mandala bottle, because it completes the bottle look. The seamless and thick coat of paint that goes onto the bottle is so magical to watch being placed onto the bottle. The colors that Lydia chose complimented each other with calming blues & greens. This dot mandala bottle painting can be a piece to decorate your place with, or for other creative gatherings. Lydia May is super talented and I admire the patience she has. I believe this is a great quarantine project, especially after all of those empty wine bottles that people may have laying around now.

Materials:

  • toothpick
  • paper q-tips
  • coffee mug
  • pencil erasers
  • damp cloth
  • palette or plastic plate
  • multi-surface acrylic paint
  • old wine bottle

The Process:

First, if you haven’t watched Lydia May’s tutorial, give it a go so you can be inspired. make sure you get the cotton q-tip and remove the cotton on one end. Then, you’re going to want to add a little white acrylic paint on each side to hold back any fuzzies from the q-tip.

Since I lover experiments, I’ve alwaysnloved to create, paint, as well as cook and style food. I feel in love with DIY as soon as I discovered it and could not have been more excited when I learned I could share projects with people around the world. Taking photos is a passion of mine, as is design and painting with oils. I love holidays and celebrations, crafting cute little gifts and serving up at least one new recipe I am excited about.
