Combine the dry ingredients from step one into your wet batter from step three. Add the dry ingredients slowly to make sure the mixture is even and lump-free. Alternate the dry ingredient with your buttermilk as well. your batter should be whipped and fluffy at the end.
Grease and flour your pan well before adding in your batter. Once your poured all your batter into the pan, shake and tap the bubbles out of the batter by moving the pan around. Place your cake into the oven to bake at 325 degrees for about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Make the butter rum sauce that will be poured over your cake. In a pan, melt some butter, then add in some granulated sugar and some water or rum. Cook the mixture on the skillet till it begins to get foamy.
Using a skewer, poke holes into your cake and then pour the sauce over it. After letting the sauce soak in for a bit, flip the cake over onto a plate and enjoy! Brush any extra glaze onto the top of the cake.
