Instructions on how to make the trap:

Step 1:

Remove the label of the small plastic bottle. Hold the bottom part of the bottle using one hand and cut the top part using an exacto blade or sharp scissors. Make sure to be careful when doing this, as you don’t want to cut yourself. Straighten the edge of the top and bottom parts using a pair of sharp scissors.

Step 2:

Pour water into the bottom plastic–make sure that it’s just about one-third. Next, add about four teaspoons of sugar, and one teaspoon of honey. Mix until well combined.

Step 3:

Remove the bottle cap from the top part, then insert it on the bottom part upside down. Make sure that the neck doesn’t touch the water. Tape the top edge with transparent tape. There should be no gaps.

Step 4:

Place it in areas where you usually see hornets and flies roaming around your house and let it capture them. These can also trap fruit flies or maybe some ants too, so you can also place them in areas where you see plenty of these pests.
