The steps to making this quilt block are very easy to follow, so if you’re new to quilting and want to practice your skills, then be sure to try this project. Learn how now by reading the instructions below and watching the video tutorial as well for more details.
Step 1
Cut 1 strip at 2½ x 22 inches in lime green and 1 strip at 2½ x 22 inches in aqua blue, then stack them together with their right sides facing, and stitch them with ¼ inch seam allowance.
Step 2
Cut the strip unit into 8 pieces at 2½ inches wide, then print and trace the template on the freezer paper, and fold the freezer paper along the line. Cut the fabric pieces roughly and a bit larger than required, then place the template on the fabric, and press to fuse.
Step 3
Trim the fabric at ¼ inch from the fold, then repeat on the other side, and then place the aqua blue triangle on one side making sure their right sides are facing and edges are matching.
Step 4
Fold the paper back, then stitch as close to the paper as possible, and press the fabric open. Do the same to the other side, then trim the excess fabric, remove the paper, and then reuse the template to make 3 more pieces.
Step 5
Sew the 4 patch blocks together and nest the seams, then unpick the stitches along the seam portion, and press nicely. Arrange the blocks together, then stitch them together one at a time, and press as you go. Combine this block with a snowball block to make a Tennessee waltz quilt block.
