This smoked shotgun shells recipe by Ash Kickin’ BBQ is by far the best appetizer I have ever tasted in a while. The flavors are insane! These are so good, you won’t stop eating these bite-sized snacks until it’s gone. The shells are filled with a delicious sausage and cheese mixture, and then each piece is wrapped with seasoned bacon strips.

Instructions:

Step 1:

Take off the pork sausage from the packaging and place it in a large bowl.

Step 2:

Season the pork sausage to taste with your preferred BBQ seasoning.

Step 3:

Add 1 and 1/2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese and mix until well incorporated.

Step 4:

Remove a manicotti shell from the package and carefully stuff it with the sausage mixture until half is filled. Next, stuff the other side until completely filled. Repeat the process with the remaining sausage and cheese mixture. This recipe can make about 10 shells.

Step 5:

Carefully wrap each one with bacon. Be sure to completely cover the entire shell so there will be no dry ad crunchy spots after you cook them.
