A serger is a welcome addition to any sewing room, and I recently got a serger for my sewing room. There can be some strange issues when you are learning to use your serger, and it is important to not be intimidated by the new sewing machine. When you line up your fabric and stitches and fold them together you can get a bulky seam that is hard to sew with your serger. There is a great tip for this dilemma that just involves making a small snip in your seam and folding your serged seam on either side so you instantly decrease the seam bulk by half.
