  • 4¾ yards of fabric, for the background and border
  • ¾ yard of binding fabric
  • 5½ yards of backing fabric
  • Marking pen, pencil, or chalk
  • Scissors or rotary cutter and a cutting mat
  • Needle and thread

Directions:

Step 1

Pick the fabric that you want to use and press them nicely before you do anything else, then cut them according to the pattern instructions. Grab 1 solid and 1 background strip, then sew them together, and press it open with the seams going toward the darker fabric. Continue to make more strip sets until you have a total of 16, then sub-cut them into 6 3-inch wide units with a total of 96, and combine the 2 units to create 1 four-patch unit.

Step 2

Grab the 6¼-inch background squares, then draw a diagonal line at the wrong side from corner to corner, and layer the solid and background squares together with their right sides facing and edges matching. Sew them together on each side of the marked line with a ¼ inch seam allowance, then cut along the line, and press them open with the seam going toward the darker fabric.

Step 3

Repeat the same steps until you have 80 half-square triangle units. Piece the rest of the fabrics as shown in the video, then assemble the block units to make a larger block, and start stitching them together. Once done sewing blocks, lay them together, then sew them per row before sewing the rows to each other along with the sashing, and then add the border, binding, backing, and quilt however you want.
