This DIY project idea by simple & fast on YouTube is very easy and simple to make, plus, it uses materials that you can easily find in your kitchen. You can also turn this into a decorative candle by using different colors and shapes of gemstones, pearls, etc. But, what I love the most about this candle aside from its use is that it also smells so good which can make your room fragrant.

Materials:

  • Glass cup
  • Gemstones, shells, pearls, or acrylic diamonds, any color you prefer
  • Oil, olive, sunflower, or any
  • Essential oil, any scent you prefer
  • Plastic bottle
  • Cutter
  • Scissors
  • Soldering iron, hot screw, or knife
  • Tissue paper

Directions:

Step 1

Get a clean and dry glass cup, then place a few gemstones, shells, pearls, or acrylic diamonds at the bottom, then add some water just until the gemstones are covered, and add the oil on top until almost full leaving about an inch headspace, add a few drops of essential oil as well. Cut off the bottom of a plastic bottle, then use scissors to make it a little thinner, and poke a small hole through the center using a soldering iron or whatever tool is convenient as long as it does the job.

Step 2

Grab a piece of tissue, then tear it smaller as shown in the video, and roll it over thinly. Twist the tissue tightly, then insert the roll or wick through the bottom of the plastic piece with the hole, and cut off the excess wick at the bottom to make sure that it sits only at the oil. Moisten the tip of the wick in the oil, then let it rest for a few seconds until it swells, and then place the piece on top of the oil making sure that the bottom of the wick doesn’t touch the water.
